About Impossible Mission 2
Impossible Mission II came out on the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1988, published by Epyx. It was a time when platformers and action games filled the shelves, and this sequel fit right in, offering another round of high stakes infiltration against the villain Elvin Atombender.
You control a secret agent navigating a sprawling, randomly generated fortress. Your mission is to stop Elvin by searching room after room, gathering pieces of a passphrase and solving numerical puzzles to unlock new areas. Key mechanics include avoiding patrolling robots, which can be temporarily stunned, and carefully managing your limited energy while jumping across platforms. The game demands patience and observation, as a single mistimed jump or an unexpected enemy can quickly end your run. Playing it feels like a tense, methodical race against a clock that is always counting down.
