About Image Fight
Image Fight came out for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1988, developed by Irem. It was part of that wave of challenging shooters on the NES, games that demanded precision and patience from players who were used to simpler arcade ports.
You control the OF-1 fighter, a small ship tasked with clearing five sectors of alien invaders. Your main objective is to survive screen by screen, destroying every enemy in a section before a gate opens to the next. Two mechanics define the action: you can rotate a pair of satellite options to fire in different directions, and the game judges your performance after each stage, sending you to a punishing penalty area if your hit rate is too low. The pacing is relentless, with enemies swarming from all sides and bullets filling the screen. Playing Image Fight feels like a constant test of your reflexes and positioning, a tense battle against overwhelming numbers where a single mistake can end your run.
