Ikari Warriors 3 is one of those classic NES run-and-gun games where you pick either Ralf (red) or Clark (blue) and just start blasting your way up the screen. The goal? Fight through waves of soldiers and tanks to reach Ikari village—easier said than done, since everything on the screen wants you dead.

You can hijack enemy tanks, which feels awesome at first—until you realize they guzzle fuel like crazy and explode if you push them too far. Jumping out at the last second before your ride blows up is way harder than it sounds, but pulling it off makes you feel like an action hero. The enemies don’t hold back either—they’ll swarm you with bullets, grenades, and whatever else they’ve got.

It’s chaotic, tough as nails, and exactly what you’d expect from an old-school arcade-style shooter. Just don’t expect to beat it on your first try.
