Ikari II - Dogosoken is one of those NES games that feels like it got lost in translation—literally. It's a Japan-only sequel to Ikari Warriors, and honestly, it plays like a weird, stripped-down version of the first game. You still run around as Rambo-lite soldiers blasting everything, but the controls are clunkier, and the overhead view makes it hard to tell what’s a bush and what’s an enemy.
First few minutes in, you’ll notice the music’s kinda catchy in that old-school synth way, but the gameplay? Rough. Your guy moves like he’s stuck in mud, and the hit detection is… questionable. Still, there’s something oddly charming about its jankiness—like a B-movie you can’t look away from. If you’re into obscure NES curiosities, this might kill 20 minutes of your life. Just don’t expect Contra.
