The controls are basic—dribble, pass, shoot—but the timing actually matters, so you can’t just button mash. Miss a shot, and the crowd groans in that crunchy Game Boy audio way.

The pixel art is clean, with little dudes who actually look like they’re sweating after a fast break. I kept getting wrecked by the AI at first until I realized stealing the ball works way better if you don’t just sprint at them like a maniac. Also, the dunk animation? Ridiculously exaggerated in the best way.

It’s not deep, but for a quick basketball fix between bus rides or whatever, it holds up way better than it has any right to.
