Hyper Black Bass '95 is one of those weirdly addictive Game Boy fishing games that somehow makes reeling in pixelated fish way more intense than it should be. You pick your lure (the frog one worked best for me), cast into these little ponds, and then it's all about timing—tap too fast or too slow and that bass is gone. The music's got this weirdly tense vibe, like you're in some high-stakes fishing tournament instead of staring at a tiny green screen.

It's janky in that classic '90s handheld way, but once you get the hang of the rhythm, you'll be weirdly proud of landing a 5-pounder. The Japanese version has some extra lures and spots compared to the US release, which is cool if you're into that. Just don't expect realism—this is arcade fishing at its chunkiest.
