Oh man, Humans: The On GB is one of those weird little Game Boy puzzlers that somehow sticks with you. You're basically shepherding these little cavemen through obstacle-filled levels, figuring out how to stack them into human ladders or toss spears to trigger switches. At first it seems simple, but then you hit a level where timing jumps just right or positioning your guys in the exact right spot becomes maddening in the best way.
The whole "help them evolve" thing plays out in these satisfying little moments—like when you finally get one of your dudes to grab a torch and suddenly they can burn through barriers. It's got that perfect balance of "aha!" puzzle solving and "oh come ON" frustration when your whole plan collapses because one guy fell in a pit. Classic Gamtek jank, but in a charming way.
Fun fact: The DS version never actually happened, so this Game Boy cart's still the best way to play it. Just watch out for the later levels—they get brutal.
