Man, Hugo on the Game Boy takes me back. You play as this goofy little troll who’s always getting into trouble—jumping over pits, dodging falling rocks, and trying not to get roasted by fire-breathing... whatever those things are. The controls are simple, but some of those jumps require weirdly precise timing, and I definitely faceplanted into spikes more than once before getting the hang of it.
The puzzles are just tricky enough to make you pause for a second, but not so hard that you’ll get stuck forever. And the music? Pure 8-bit nostalgia, especially that weirdly catchy minecart level theme. It’s one of those games where you’ll mutter “one more try” at 2 AM because you know you can make that next jump. If you’ve got a soft spot for old-school platformers, Hugo’s worth dusting off the Game Boy for.
