About Hudson Hawk
Hudson Hawk came out for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1991, developed by Ocean Software. It was part of that wave of movie tie-in games on the NES, where you often got an action platformer that tried to follow the film's plot. This one is based on the Bruce Willis movie about a cat burglar, and it fits right in with other licensed titles from that era.
You control the main character, Hudson Hawk, through side-scrolling levels. Your goal is to navigate each stage, avoid or take out guards, and find specific treasures to steal. The gameplay involves a lot of jumping between platforms, using your character's acrobatic moves to get around, and engaging in close combat with enemies. You explore the levels screen by screen, collecting items and figuring out the path forward. The game has a reputation for being quite difficult, with precise timing needed for jumps and enemy encounters that can feel relentless. Playing it is a test of patience and memorization as you learn the layout of each hazardous area.
