Hook On GB is one of those Game Boy games that looks simple at first—just swinging a hook around to grab stuff—but gets surprisingly intense once you actually play it. The controls feel a little stiff at first (it is an old-school title), but after a few tries, you start nailing those tricky swings between platforms.
The levels get pretty creative—some have moving obstacles, others force you to time your jumps just right. And yeah, the music’s got that classic chiptune charm, the kind that sticks in your head way longer than it should. It’s not the deepest game out there, but there’s something satisfying about finally clearing a stage that had you stuck for ages.
If you’ve got a soft spot for retro handheld games, this one’s a solid pick. Just don’t blame me when you realize you’ve been playing for an hour straight.
