Hook on the Game Boy is one of those weird little point-and-click adventures based on the Peter Pan movie—you know, the one with Robin Williams. It’s got that classic pixelated charm, and you’ll spend most of your time tapping around Neverland, solving puzzles, and trying not to get stuck (because let’s be honest, old-school adventure games love their obscure solutions).
First few minutes? You’re Peter, wandering around London before things get magical. Then suddenly—boom—you’re dodging pirates and figuring out how to fly again. The controls are simple, but some of the item combinations make you scratch your head. Still, if you grew up with these kinds of games, there’s something cozy about the frustration.
It’s not the deepest adventure out there, but it’s got enough nostalgia and fairy dust to keep you entertained for an afternoon.
