Honoo no Doukyuuji - Dodge Danpei 2 is one of those weirdly addictive NES sports games you stumble into and suddenly lose an hour to. It's dodgeball, but not like you remember from gym class—this is full-on anime-style chaos with super-powered throws and ridiculous special moves. The controls are simple (run, jump, throw), but timing your dodges just right feels way more satisfying than it should.
First match in, you'll probably get wrecked by the AI's curveballs until you figure out the rhythm. The characters all have their own quirks—some toss slow but brutal shots, others spam fast weak ones. Graphics are typical late-era NES: bright colors, chunky sprites, and that one crowd animation looped forever in the background. Not gonna lie, the music's kinda hype once it gets going.
If you're into old-school competitive sports games with a silly streak, this one's a hidden gem. Just don't blame me when you start muttering "one more match" at 2 AM.
