About Home Alone (usa, Europe)
I remember playing Home Alone on my Game Boy back in 1991. It was developed by Imagineering Inc., and it was one of those many licensed games that tried to capture the feel of a popular movie on the small screen. During that era, you expected a certain kind of simple, portable action from a Game Boy cart, and this one fit right in.
You control Kevin McCallister, and your goal is to survive until your family returns by setting traps for the Wet Bandits, Harry and Marv. The game is split between two main phases. During the day, you explore your neighborhood screen by screen, collecting items like ornaments and BBs from various houses. At night, you return home to set up your defenses before the burglars arrive. You have to be quick; placing traps is a race against the clock, and then you spend the night running and hiding, trying to avoid getting caught. It can be surprisingly difficult to manage your time and resources effectively. The whole experience feels like a frantic scramble to outsmart your pursuers with limited means.
