Hokuto No Ken 2 - Seikimatsu Kyuuseishu Densetsu (japan) Game
📅 1987 ✍️ Toei Animation

Hokuto No Ken 2 on NES is basically you stepping into Kenshiro’s sandals and punching your way through a wasteland full of thugs who explode in the most ridiculous ways. The sprites are tiny, but the vibe is 100% Fist of the North Star—desolate landscapes, dramatic pauses, and guys screaming "ATATATATA" before their heads pop like overripe melons.
You start off with the basic Hokuto Shinken moves, but the real fun is figuring out which combos make enemies implode faster. Some of the hit detection is janky (this is an NES game), but landing that perfect pressure point strike and watching a goon’s skeleton light up never gets old. Just don’t expect a deep story—it’s mostly walking right and making bad guys regret their life choices.
If you’ve got nostalgia for 8-bit beat ‘em ups or just want to see pixelated violence at its most absurd, this one’s a solid time capsule.
