Hit the Ice on Game Boy is one of those old-school hockey games that somehow makes tiny pixel players feel intense. You pick your team, jump into a match, and immediately notice how weirdly satisfying it is to body-check opponents into the boards—even if the sprites are basically just colored blobs. The controls take a second to get used to (good luck nailing a slapshot on your first try), but once you do, it’s pure arcade-style chaos. The sound effects are hilariously crunchy, like someone recorded a tin can being stepped on every time you pass the puck. It’s not deep, but it’s the kind of game you’ll keep replaying just to see if you can finally win by more than one goal.
