Okay, so Hercules: The Legendary Journeys on N64 is basically you smashing your way through Greek myths as the buffest dude in togas. The first level throws you right into it—you’re punching skeletons, chucking boulders at harpies, and occasionally solving these weird block puzzles that feel kinda out of place. The graphics are bright and cartoony, like the TV show, but don’t expect Ocarina of Time levels of detail.
Combat’s simple but satisfying—you’ve got your basic combo attacks and a rage mode that lets Hercules go full god mode for a bit. Some of the platforming bits are janky (classic N64), but there’s something weirdly charming about hopping across floating ruins while Cyclopes chuck rocks at you. Also, the voice clips are hilariously over-thetop. "DISAPPOINTED!" lives rent-free in my head.
It’s not the deepest game, but if you’re into cheesy ‘90s action or just want to relive that era of licensed games, it’s a dumb fun time. Just maybe lower your expectations for the hydra boss fight.
