About Hatris (japan)
Hatris came out for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1990, published by Bullet-Proof Software. It was one of the many puzzle games that appeared on the NES, trying to capture some of the magic of falling block games from that era.
You control a pair of hats that fall from the top of the screen. Your goal is to stack five hats of the same kind vertically or horizontally to make them disappear, clearing space on the playfield. The main mechanics involve rotating the pair of hats and sliding them left or right to fit into your growing stacks. As you progress, the hats fall faster, and the screen fills up more quickly, demanding quicker decisions. It feels like a constant race to organize the chaos before the pile reaches the top.
