About Harlem Globetrotters
Harlem Globetrotters came out for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1991, developed by Softie, Inc. It was one of many sports titles on the platform that tried to capture a real world team's spirit, in this case the exhibition basketball squad known for their showmanship. You control one of the Globetrotters players in a two-on-two basketball game against a series of opposing teams. The main objective is to win each match by outscoring the computer, progressing through a tournament. Signature mechanics include performing trick passes and dribbles by pressing specific button combinations, and attempting the team's famous half-court hook shot, the "Alley-Oop," for high scoring chances.
