Hal Wrestling Game

Hal Wrestling on Game Boy is exactly what you'd expect from a late '90s wrestling game—clunky but weirdly charming. The sprites are blocky, the moves are stiff, and the crowd noise sounds like someone shaking a tin can full of pennies. But after a couple matches, you start appreciating the dumb fun of it.
You pick from a roster of wrestlers with names like "Iron Fist" and "The Crusher," each with their own hilariously exaggerated special move. The controls take some getting used to—good luck pulling off a piledriver without mashing buttons—but when you finally land that perfect suplex, it’s oddly satisfying. The AI isn’t exactly smart, but it’ll cheap-shot you the second you stop paying attention.
It’s not deep, but there’s something about the janky physics and over-the-top entrances that makes it hard to put down. Just don’t expect a technical masterpiece.
