About Gun.smoke
Gun.Smoke came out in 1985 for the Nintendo Entertainment System, developed and published by Capcom. It was part of that early wave of NES games that established what the console could do, a straightforward action title set in the Old West.
You control a lone bounty hunter on horseback, moving automatically from left to right through a series of towns and canyons. Your main goal is to defeat the wanted outlaws at the end of each stage to collect their bounties. The signature mechanics are your ability to shoot in three directions: forward, diagonally up, and diagonally down. You also collect power-ups from defeated enemies to upgrade your pistol into a spread shot or a more powerful weapon. The pacing is relentless, with enemies swarming from all sides, and the difficulty is steep, demanding quick reflexes to survive. Playing it feels like a constant, tense shootout where every moment counts.
