About Guerilla War
Guerilla War came out for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1987, developed and published by SNK. It was part of that wave of arcade style shooters that felt right at home on the NES, offering a straightforward, action packed experience without much fuss.
You control one of two guerrilla fighters, moving through jungles and military bases to overthrow a dictator. Your goal is to advance screen by screen, shooting countless enemy soldiers and freeing prisoners of war. The game is known for its eight way directional shooting, which gives you a lot of control in frantic situations, and the ability to use a wide array of weapons like flamethrowers and rocket launchers that you pick up from downed enemies. The pacing is relentless, with enemies swarming from all sides, and it gets quite difficult as you progress. It feels chaotic and demanding, forcing you to constantly move and shoot to survive the onslaught.
