Great Greed is one of those weird little Game Boy RPGs that somehow sticks with you. You start off as this kid named Name (yeah, you literally name yourself "Name" if you don’t change it) who gets roped into saving the world from pollution—by punching monsters and eating questionable food to recover health. The combat’s simple turn-based stuff, but the writing’s got this offbeat charm, like when a sentient carrot joins your party or you stumble into a town run by frogs.
The graphics are bright and chunky in that classic Game Boy way, and the music’s surprisingly catchy for a deep-cut title. It’s not the deepest RPG out there, but there’s something oddly satisfying about grinding through battles while the game keeps throwing bizarre twists at you. If you’re into retro oddities, this one’s worth a play just for the sheer weirdness of it all.
Also, pro tip: stock up on bananas. You’ll need them.
