This one's a niche little Game Boy gem—basically a Japanese history quiz game disguised as a retro RPG. You pick your character (I went with the samurai, obviously) and suddenly you're answering multiple-choice questions about Edo period politics and famous battles. Get them right, and your dude levels up like a proper RPG hero. Get them wrong, and... well, let's just say my first attempt ended with my warrior failing to identify the Meiji Restoration.

The pixel art's charmingly basic, and the questions are all in Japanese, so unless you're studying for a history exam or just really love obscure edutainment titles, it might not be your thing. But there's something weirdly satisfying about watching your little avatar grow stronger by correctly naming 16th-century shoguns. I definitely learned more about the Tokugawa shogunate than I expected to today.
