This one's a weird little Game Boy gem—basically a kanji quiz game disguised as a high school entrance exam sim. You pick answers under a timer while this tiny pixelated teacher scowls at you, and somehow failing a virtual test still stings a bit. The kanji start simple but ramp up fast, and there's something oddly satisfying about nailing obscure readings while your on-screen "rival" character sweats bullets.
It's definitely niche—no flashy RPG battles here, just you versus the Japanese language—but if you're into retro edutainment or prepping for the JLPT, it's got this weirdly addictive rhythm. I kept coming back just to beat my high score, even though the 8-bit victory fanfare sounds like a kazoo being stepped on.
