Golgo 13 - Top Secret Episode is one of those weird, janky NES games that somehow sticks with you. You play as this stone-faced assassin navigating a bizarre conspiracy that starts in Berlin and just gets weirder from there. The controls take some getting used to—walking feels stiff at first, but once you get the hang of sneaking past guards and picking up clues from shady contacts, it starts to click.

What’s cool is how open it feels for an NES game—you’re not just running left to right. You actually explore cities, talk to people (some of whom will straight-up lie to you), and piece together where to go next. The story’s full of that classic ‘80s spy nonsense, but in a fun way. And yeah, the shooting mechanics are clunky, but lining up a sniper shot and watching the slow-mo bullet actually feels satisfying.
