About Gojira
I picked up Gojira for the original Game Boy back when it was new. It was released in 1990 by Toho, the company behind the Godzilla films. At the time, the Game Boy was full of simple action games and licensed titles, and this one fit right in. You don't play as Godzilla; instead, you control a human character navigating a world under attack.
Your goal is to survive the monster's rampage and ultimately defeat it. You move screen by screen through a city, avoiding collapsing buildings and enemy soldiers. You find weapons like a laser gun to fight back, and you collect power-ups to increase your health and firepower. The game is methodical; you have to plan your route carefully to avoid getting trapped. It feels tense and deliberate, a slow struggle against an overwhelming force.
