About Godzilla (japan)
Godzilla for the Nintendo Entertainment System came out in 1988, published by Toho. It was one of many games from that era trying to capture a movie license on the console, and it had the familiar look and sound of an 8-bit title from that time.
You control the military forces trying to stop Godzilla and other monsters from destroying cities. Your main goal is to protect specific buildings on the map from being demolished. The game plays out on a strategic overhead map where you move units screen by screen, and then you engage in side-view combat when you encounter a monster. You use tanks, fighter jets, and a super weapon called the Super X, managing your limited resources and energy. The pacing is slow and deliberate, and the difficulty is high, often feeling unforgiving as monsters quickly overwhelm your defenses. It feels like a constant, desperate struggle against forces much larger than your own.
