Okay, so this is the Game Boy version of Godzilla—and yeah, it’s exactly what you’d expect. You stomp around as the big guy, smashing buildings like they’re made of toothpicks while tanks and jets try (and fail) to stop you. The pixel art actually holds up pretty well—Godzilla’s little sprite has that classic hunched-over look, and when he does his atomic breath, the screen shakes like crazy.
Then there are the monster fights. You’ll go up against Mechagodzilla and a few others, and the battles are clunky but weirdly satisfying. The controls take a minute to get used to—holding down buttons to charge attacks feels awkward at first, but once you get the timing down, it’s kind of fun to just wreck everything in sight.
It’s not deep, but if you ever wanted to feel like a giant lizard knocking over skyscrapers on your morning commute, this does the job. Just don’t expect a masterpiece.
