About Goal! Two
Goal! Two was released for the Nintendo Entertainment System, a follow up to the original Goal! from developer Jaleco. It arrived during a period when sports simulations on the NES were becoming more common, offering an alternative to the more prominent titles in the genre.
You control a team of soccer players, moving them around the field to pass and shoot the ball. The main objective is to outscore your opponent within the match time limit. Signature mechanics include a power meter for shooting, which determines the strength and trajectory of your kicks, and the ability to perform sliding tackles to dispossess opponents. The game moves at a brisk pace, and the computer opponents provide a consistent challenge, making careful positioning and timing essential.
