About Go! Go! Tank (japan)
I first played Go! Go! Tank on my Game Boy around 1990. It was developed and published by Natsume, a company known for several other titles on the system. This was a time when portable games were simple and direct, often built around a single clear idea, and this one fit right in with that straightforward approach.
You control a small tank, navigating through a series of single-screen maze levels. Your main goal is to destroy all enemy tanks on each stage before they can destroy you. The core mechanics involve maneuvering your tank to avoid enemy fire while lining up your own shots; you can also collect power-ups that temporarily upgrade your cannon or grant you limited invincibility. The game moves at a quick pace, and the difficulty increases noticeably as you progress, with later stages becoming quite crowded with foes. Playing it feels like a tense, methodical duel where every move counts.
