About Go! Go! Tank
Go! Go! Tank was a 1990 Game Boy release from the developer/publisher Irem. It arrived early in the system's life, a time when many games were built around straightforward, repeatable concepts. You control a small tank tasked with defending your base from waves of enemy vehicles and aircraft.
Your objective is to survive as long as possible, shooting down everything that moves across the single-screen battlefield. Signature mechanics include collecting power-ups that upgrade your main cannon and secondary weapons, like missiles. You also need to manage your limited fuel supply, which constantly depletes and requires you to collect fuel cans dropped by certain enemies. The pacing is relentless, with the difficulty ramping up quickly as more aggressive foes appear. It feels like a tense, constant scramble for resources while under fire.
