About Glover
Glover came out for the Nintendo 64 in 1998, a time when 3D platformers were everywhere. It was developed by Interactive Studios, and it always stood out to me because you don't play as an animal or a person. You control a magical glove, which is a pretty strange concept when you think about it. The goal is to guide a magical rubber ball through a series of fantasy worlds, fixing a spell that went wrong.
You roll, bounce, and carry this ball through levels filled with puzzles and platforming challenges. The main mechanics involve using different types of balls, like a bowling ball to smash obstacles or a crystal ball to solve specific puzzles. You explore screen by screen, often backtracking to find the right path or a needed item. The game can be surprisingly difficult, with some precise jumps and tricky enemy placements. It feels a bit clunky at times, but there's a unique charm in carefully maneuvering your ball through each hazard-filled stage.
