Gex 64 is one of those weird, late-'90s platformers where you play as a sunglasses-wearing gecko who cracks jokes about TV shows while hopping through surreal, channel-surfing worlds. The levels are all themed after cheesy genres—horror movies, sci-fi, even infomercials—and Gex never shuts up about it. Some of the references are dated now, but the platforming holds up better than you’d expect, with tight controls and just enough collectibles to keep you exploring.
It’s got that classic N64 jank—occasional camera struggles, some awkward jumps—but the personality more than makes up for it. If you ever wanted to hear a lizard riff on Baywatch while dodging giant remote controls, this is your game.
