Gex 3 is one of those weird, late-'90s platformers that somehow works—mostly because the gecko won’t shut up. You jump into these surreal, TV-themed worlds (think: horror movie sets, kung fu flicks, even a cheesy game show), and Gex just keeps dropping one-liners like a sarcastic stand-up comic. Some jokes land, some don’t, but the levels are actually solid—tight controls, decent platforming, and a surprising amount of variety. The graphics are bright and cartoony, though the N64 version’s a little blurrier than the PlayStation one. Still, if you can handle the constant quips, it’s a fun ride.
Just don’t expect deep storytelling—this is pure Saturday-morning-cartoon energy with a side of ’90s attitude.
