George Foreman's KO Boxing on Game Boy is basically what happens when you take Punch-Out!! and give it a 90s Foreman makeover. You start off fighting scrubs in dingy gyms, bobbing and weaving like you're actually in the ring—except your thumbs are doing all the work. The pixelated Foreman even does his little shuffle before throwing those signature slow-but-deadly punches.
It's not as polished as Punch-Out!!, but there's something weirdly charming about the janky animations and the way opponents dramatically keel over after a well-timed uppercut. The difficulty spikes hard around the third fight, though—suddenly everyone hits like they’ve got bricks in their gloves. If you can push past that, you’ll get to see Foreman’s comeback story play out in all its blocky, beep-boop glory.
Definitely a nostalgia trip for anyone who remembers Foreman grilling burgers between knockouts.
