About Geimos (japan)
Geimos came out for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1985, developed by HAL Laboratory. It was part of that early wave of NES games where developers were still figuring out what the hardware could do, experimenting with different perspectives and control schemes.
You pilot a small ship viewed from a third-person, pseudo-3D perspective, flying into the screen. Your main goal is to survive waves of geometric enemies, primarily the Geimos creatures, while navigating the forced scrolling. The core mechanics involve precise aiming with a targeting reticle and managing your ship's limited firing angles. You destroy enemies and structures for points, and the game is known for its steep difficulty and relentless pace. It feels like a constant, tense battle against the controls and the incoming swarm.
