About Garfield
Garfield came out on the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1989, published by The Edge. It was one of many licensed games from that era, trying to capture the look of the popular comic strip on the 8-bit hardware.
You control Garfield, moving him through side scrolling levels. The main goal is to collect items like ice cream, donuts, and cakes while avoiding enemies like mice and spiders. You can jump on platforms and use a limited projectile attack, a thrown object, to stun foes. The game is structured level by level, with a timer adding pressure. It feels like a straightforward arcade style challenge, where precise jumps and quick reactions are necessary to progress. Playing it is a simple, sometimes frustrating test of timing and memorization.
