About Ganbare Goemon - Sarawareta Ebisumaru (japan)
Konami released Ganbare Goemon: Sarawareta Ebisumaru for the Game Boy in 1991. It was part of that wave of early portable games, straightforward adventures you could carry in your pocket. This one is a side story in the larger Goemon series, focusing on the character Ebisumaru after he gets kidnapped.
You control the main hero, Goemon, navigating through side scrolling levels and top down towns and dungeons. Your main goal is to rescue your friend Ebisumaru, which involves traveling across a world map to reach his captors. You use your pipe to attack enemies and can collect coins to buy items from shops. The game mixes action platforming with light exploration, moving screen by screen. Some sections can be tricky, with precise jumps and enemy patterns to learn. It feels like a compact, focused quest from that era.
