About Gamera (english Translation)
I picked up Gamera on the original Game Boy back when it was new. It was released in 1990 by Bandai, a company known for its toy licenses. This was a time when portable games were simple, often based on movies or shows, and Gamera fit right in with that trend. You don't see many games about a giant flying turtle, so it always stood out in my collection.
You control Gamera from a side view, moving screen by screen to fight other monsters. Your main goal is to defeat all the enemy creatures across various levels. The gameplay involves flying, shooting fireballs, and using a spinning shell attack to damage foes. You navigate through different environments, from cities to natural landscapes, and the pace is fairly quick. The difficulty can be sharp, especially when multiple enemies attack at once, requiring precise movement and timing. It feels straightforward and action packed, a solid monster brawler for short bursts of play.
