Play Gamera Online

I picked up Gamera on the original Game Boy back when it was new. It was published by Bandai, and it's one of those licensed games that feels very much of its time on the handheld. You don't see many games based on the giant flying turtle, so it always stood out in my collection, even if it wasn't a major title.

You control Gamera from a side view, moving left and right across the screen. Your main goal is to defend Japan from other monsters by flying and fighting. You can breathe fire at enemies and use a spinning shell attack to ram into them. The game is broken into stages where you face different monsters, and the pacing is quite fast; you're constantly reacting to new enemies appearing. It's a simple, straightforward action game that feels satisfying when you successfully clear a screen of threats.
