Okay, so Gamera on Game Boy is basically the perfect little time capsule of that classic 8-bit era. You boot it up and immediately get hit with those crunchy pixel graphics and that unmistakable chiptune soundtrack—like someone bottled 1992 and poured it straight into your Game Boy.

The first level throws you right into it: dodging fireballs from weird turtle monsters, jumping over bottomless pits (why are there always bottomless pits?), and figuring out which power-ups are actually worth grabbing. That first boss fight? Brutal in the best way—took me three tries to realize you gotta hit his weak spot when he rears back.

If you grew up with this stuff, it’s pure nostalgia. If you didn’t? You’ll finally understand why we all had calluses from mashing the D-pad. Either way, it’s a solid little monster-slashing adventure that doesn’t overstay its welcome.
