Oh man, this takes me back—remember when Tamagotchis were everywhere? This Game Boy version is basically that, but with way more going on. You get both the Osutchi and Mesutchi virtual pets to raise, which is cool because they actually interact with each other. Feed them, play mini-games, try not to let them turn into little gremlins when you forget about them for a few hours (whoops).

The pixel art is super cute, and there’s something weirdly satisfying about the mini-games—like this one where you catch falling food with a tiny net. It’s simple, but I kept replaying it way longer than I’d admit. Also, the Japanese version has some quirky charm the international releases missed.

If you ever had a Tamagotchi as a kid, this hits that nostalgia just right. Just don’t blame me when you’re up at 3 AM because your digital pet won’t stop beeping.
