Game Boy Wars Turbo - Famitsu Version is one of those weird little strategy gems from the Game Boy era. It's basically a stripped-down Advance Wars before Advance Wars existed—you move tanks, infantry, and planes across a grid, capturing cities to fund your army while trying to crush the other guy.
The Famitsu version adds some extra maps and tweaks, though good luck figuring out what’s different unless you’ve played the original. The pixel art is charmingly basic, and the AI actually puts up a decent fight once you get past the early missions. Just don’t expect deep storytelling—it’s all about outmaneuvering your opponent with limited resources.
If you’re into retro strategy games, this one’s a solid time capsule from when Nintendo was still figuring out portable war sims.
