Okay, so Game Boy Gallery 2 is actually Game & Watch Gallery 2—someone must’ve mixed up the name when localizing it for Australia. Classic Nintendo confusion. It’s a sequel to the first Game & Watch Gallery, but this one dropped in '97 for the original Game Boy (though Australia got it a year later, and by then, the Game Boy Color was already a thing).
You get a bunch of remastered versions of those old-school LCD Game & Watch titles—stuff like Fire and Manhole, but with smoother animations and a modern coat of paint. There’s even a hidden game you’ve gotta unlock, which was a nice little surprise back in the day. The controls are simple, but some of these get seriously tough once you hit the later stages. I remember getting wrecked by Octopus more times than I’d like to admit.
If you’ve got nostalgia for those early handheld days, this is a solid time capsule—just don’t expect anything mind-blowing beyond some polished-up classics.
