GB Genjin Land is this weird little Japan-only Game Boy gem where you play as Bonk, the caveman dude with the giant head. It's a side-scroller, but way more chill than the TurboGrafx-16 Bonk games—you're mostly bopping enemies with your forehead and jumping between floating islands that look like they're made of clay.
The whole thing has this goofy, almost stop-motion vibe to it, like someone animated it by hand. There's no real story, just Bonk hopping around collecting fruit and occasionally riding a pterodactyl (because of course he does). Controls are simple, but some jumps feel just awkward enough to make you mutter at the screen.
It's short, it's silly, and unless you read Japanese, you'll be guessing at some of the power-ups. Still kinda charming in its own janky way.
