GB Genjin 2 is one of those Game Boy gems that feels like it was made just to put a dumb grin on your face. You play as Bonk, this goofy caveman with a head so hard he can smash through enemies, blocks, and honestly most of his problems. The levels are bright, weird, and packed with little details—like fish that bounce you higher if you headbutt them just right.
At first, I thought it’d be another basic platformer, but there’s something about the way Bonk controls—he’s got weight to him, but still bounces around like a rubber ball. And the bosses? Classic 90s nonsense in the best way. One minute you’re fighting a giant fire-breathing... chicken? Sure, why not.
It’s short, but that just means you’ll probably replay it to find all the hidden fruit or just to see Bonk’s victory dance again. Still holds up if you’re into that old-school charm.
