About Funny Field (japan)
Funny Field is a Game Boy puzzle game released in 1990 by SNK. It arrived early in the handheld's life, a time when developers were exploring what worked on the small screen. This title fits right into that experimental period with its straightforward, tile-based concept.
You control a small character who walks across a grid, flipping tiles from their dark side to their light side. Your goal is to illuminate the entire board. Enemies roam the field, and if they touch you, you lose a life. You can temporarily stun these foes by flipping the tile they are standing on. The game progresses screen by screen, with each new stage introducing more complex layouts and faster enemies. It starts simply but demands quick planning as the stages advance. Playing it feels like a race against the screen itself, a constant push to outmaneuver enemies and clear the board before you are overwhelmed.
