Fun House on NES is basically what happens when you take the chaotic energy of a kids' game show and cram it into an overhead racing game. You're this little dude on rollerblades, weaving through obstacle courses that feel like someone dumped a toy box onto a racetrack. The timer's always breathing down your neck, and if you wipe out—which you will, a lot—it's back to the start.
Weirdly, it plays like a stripped-down Pole Position but with way more banana-peel energy. The controls take some getting used to—your kid skates like they’ve had too much soda—but once it clicks, you’ll be ducking under swinging mallets and hopping over pits like a tiny action hero. Just don’t expect mercy from the clock.
It’s janky in that very specific NES way where the charm outweighs the frustration. Mostly.
