Flying Hero is one of those weird, charming NES games that makes you go, "Wait, firefighters on trampolines?" at first glance. You bounce around saving people from burning buildings, which sounds simple until you realize how easy it is to overshoot a jump and send your little firefighter dude flying into the abyss. The controls take a minute to get used to—timing your bounces feels oddly satisfying once it clicks.
It’s got that classic Japanese quirkiness, with bright colors and this weirdly intense soundtrack for a game about trampoline rescue missions. There was supposed to be a US version called Blazebusters, but it got scrapped, so this Famicom cart is all we’ve got. Definitely a hidden gem if you’re into offbeat retro action games.
