Flipull is one of those weird little Japanese puzzle games that somehow makes pulling blocks off a grid way more intense than it sounds. You’ve got these colored cubes stacked in layers, and you yank them out in matching pairs—but the whole structure shifts unpredictably after every move. Mess up, and suddenly you’re staring at a jumbled mess with no clear way out.

The NES version’s got that classic Taito charm—bright colors, chunky sound effects, and a soundtrack that’s equal parts cheerful and frantic. At first it feels simple, but after a few rounds, you realize there’s some real strategy in how you dismantle the grid. And yeah, it’s Japan-only, but the menus are easy enough to figure out even if you don’t read a word of Japanese.

Honestly, it’s the kind of game you boot up thinking you’ll play for five minutes, then an hour later you’re still muttering “one more try” under your breath.
