Okay, so Fist of the North Star on Game Boy is exactly what it sounds like—a pixelated, slightly janky but weirdly satisfying adaptation of Kenshiro’s whole "you’re already dead" schtick. The sprites are tiny, but somehow they still capture that over-the-top martial arts energy when you land a Hokuto Shinken finisher and watch some poor thug explode.

It’s basically a side-scrolling beat-em-up where you punch your way through wasteland gangs, with a few special moves mapped to awkward button combos (good luck pulling off the Musou Tensei reliably). The difficulty spikes hard around the third stage, but there’s something weirdly addictive about the clunky animations and that classic GB chiptune rendition of the anime theme.

Not gonna lie, it’s rough around the edges—expect some slowdown when too many enemies crowd the screen—but if you’re into retro manga games or just want to see Kenshiro’s ridiculous poses in 8-bit, it’s a fun little time capsule.
